When Novartis decided to build a new production line for commercial processing of highly active substances in Wehr, Germany, a complicating factor was to find a way to integrate production in an existing non-GMP building. Fortunately, KeyPlants was up to the challenge.

We were assigned to provide a Concept Design for an indoor modular concept for a 160-sqm indoor modular facility for oral solid dosage (OSD).  

We designed the modular facility as separate process suites with one level of modules including a high bay area for the capsule filling machine. The air handling units were designed as mechanical skids to be placed either on the ground floor beside the modules or as a second-storey module placed above on of the ground floor modules.
